TATA.ev Launches Network of High-Speed MegaChargers Across Key Indian Highways

Tata Motors have initiated their first step towards connecting major Indian Highways with their highly advanced MegaChargers. All the high speed chargers are placed at strategic locations across the country. The initial plan of the company is to install more than 500 high-speed charging stations at major parts of the country.
These charging infrastructures are jointly developed under a strategic alliance between ChargeZone and Statiq. The areas selected are majorly urban centers and important highways connecting metro cities.
Installation of Charging Stations
The new charging network is installed at three stations at the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway, four high-speed stations at the Delhi-Jaipur Route, and at some important locations on the Pune-Nashik highway, and also in Bengaluru and Udaipur.
POWER: The 400 kW MegaCharger has a capacity to charge up to six vehicles simultaneously, thus giving a significant boost of 150 Km on a single charge in just 15 minutes of time.
The Chief Strategy Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd, expressed his happiness on the occasion and said, “Advanced and High-Power Charging infrastructure is really important for a developed electric mobility. These first ten Tata MegaChargers placed at the major locations are a first step towards an advanced superfast charging network.
Vision of Tata’s Charging Network
Tata’s future vision is to increase the total available charging points to 4,00,000 by the year 2027, which is double than the current charging network.
The company has also made strategic partnerships with various charging point operators and Oil Marketing companies to develop the charging network and this initiative is called the ‘Open Collaboration’.
Facilities at the MegaChargers
Tata has equipped the new MegaChargers with various high-class facilities to ensure a seamless charging experience for the users. These amenities include washrooms, dining area, and Wi-Fi and co-working spaces in several charging stations.
These facilities will ensure a rapid growth and an enhanced charging ecosystem which ensures a smooth transition towards electric mobility.
The Founder and CEO of Statiq, Akshit Bansal expressed his opinion on the partnership and said, “This is a start of a milestone on developing the nation’s EV infrastructure. Thus the joint efforts from Tata Motors in order to establish a highly advanced electric infrastructure is constantly on a rise, eradicating the key issues of EVs in the country such as range anxiety and establishing optimum number of charging stations across the country.
