Vinfast to soon Launch the VF7 in India before the festive season

Vinfast is on the verge of entering the Indian electric vehicle industry with the much-anticipated VF7 electric SUV. After showcasing their upcoming electric lineup in Auto Expo 2025 in January, the manufacturer has confirmed the launch of VF7 in India before the festive season. This electric SUV is exclusively developed in Vietnam, but will be made as per Indian requirements.
Vinfast will commence the bookings from June and is all ready to start its operations in its dedicated plant in Tamil Nadu. The plant will start production in the next few days and has a capacity of producing 50,000 cars per year.
Vinfast has followed a strategic approach of locally manufacturing the Vinfast 7 in India, as compared to new brands following the CBU route and playing it safe.
VinFast VF7: Expected Powertrains
Vinfast will be positioning the VF7 as a premium SUV in the midsize electric SUV segment. Visually the design looks bold, larger and premium. Vinfast has designed the VF7 on their signature V-themed which will be a symbol in their other cars too.
It will be equipped with LED DRLs, split LED headlights, and big housed air intakes styled with silver garnish elements to give it a striking look. This substantial electric SUV rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and has a remarkable length of 4.5 meters. It will also feature a receding roofline to give it a coupe design styling.
POWER: For the VF7, customers can select from two motor variants: VF7 Plus and VF7 Plus AWD. The VF7 Plus will utilize a single motor that generates 201 Bhp and 310 Nm of peak torque, in contrast, the VF7 Plus AWD will achieve a robust 343 Bhp and 500 Nm of strong torque with its dual motor setup.
Battery Pack: If we talk about battery specifications, both variants will be getting the same 75.3 kWh battery pack with a company claimed range of 450 Km (WLTP) on a full charge. Standard features will include leatherette upholstery, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, and Level 2 ADAS.
Vinfast Future in India
Currently Vinfast is focussing towards developing a seamless dealership network which will be in operation soon. Vinfast is also working towards positioning their entire lineup of upcoming cars in the various EV segments, so as to provide cars according to consumer preferences.
If we look at the upcoming lineup, The VF7 will be introduced in July or August, followed by the launch of VF6, which is scheduled to launch by September 2025.
Vinfast has already invested about $2 billion in India towards developing their whole ecosystem such as a dedicated manufacturing facility and an established dealer network to ensure a smooth supply of its product.
The company is quite positive about their implemented strategies and is working on developing their upcoming next generation cars to launch in the Indian EV market.
