Volkswagen ID.4: Launch Date & Expected Price
The Volkswagen ID.4 is expected to launch in India between mid-to-late 2026. It will be the first electric car for the brand in the Indian market and will be fully imported as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) unit. The ID.4 will be positioned against competitors such as Hyundai Ioniq 5, Audi Q3, and BMW X1.
Globally, it is available with a 52 kWh and a substantial 77 kWh battery pack and a WLTP-certified range of up to 541 Km. The ID.4 also supports DC fast charging up to 135 kW, which allows it to rapidly charge from 10-80% in just 28 minutes. It also supports 11 kW AC charging.

The ID.4 could be launched in India with an expected price range between Rs 50 lakh to Rs 65 lakh (Ex-Showroom). Some of the key features include a 12.9-inch touchscreen, the “ID.Light” visual cue system, and a start/stop sensor attached to the driver’s seat. It also comes with 12-way power adjustable front seats which comes with heating, ventilation, and massage functionality.

The Volkswagen ID.4 also features a panoramic glass roof, an LED light strip under the windshield that visually provides information to the driver (for example Charging Status, Turn-By-Turn Navigation, and Brake warnings). There is also an inclusion of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and AR heads-up display that projects navigation instructions directly to the windshield.
Safety features include IQ.DRIVE suite which comprises Level 2 ADAS, lane assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Front Assist. It also features Car2X Communication, which allows the car to communicate with other vehicles in order to know the traffic situations so as to alert you with the potential risks.
