The 2025 Community Day of Ather Energy explained the vision of the company and its future products and recent updates to the existing products. The company also introduced brand new EV platforms that will serve as a basis to power future electric models, which also includes two concepts, and OTA updates for all existing models. Let’s discuss the major highlights of the Community Day.
Ather Community Day Important Announcements
AtherStack 7.0 Update: This software update brings new features such as voice interaction, which is backed by a large language model specifically tuned for Indian dialects, thus allowing riders to communicate seamlessly with their scooters.
With this software update, there is also an addition of new safety features which includes Crash Alerts, automatic notifications of emergency contacts with live location data and Pothole Alerts which basically warns riders of rough patches ahead by inclusion of fleet-wide intelligence.
Ather has also updated its Infinite Cruise system, which is even more dynamic than before and is suited according to Indian road conditions. It is incorporated with three specific modes which includes CityCruise, which adjusts accordingly to braking and speed changes without switching off the Hill Control, which provides better torque on hills and uses regenerative braking on descents.
There is also a Crawl Mode which keeps a constant speed of 10 kph especially on rough broken patches and ensures multimode traction control for slippery surfaces. This feature can also be used as a reverse assist and is compatible with 2025 Ather 450 Apex.
There is also an update in security features as now it alerts the owners if their scooters are parked in restricted areas and there is also an inclusion of LockSafe, which allows the scooter to be locked directly from the app.
There are various remote control functions available to the user such as stopping charging or shutting down the scooter from any location. The AtherStack 7.0 will be available to the existing users via an OTA update in coming months and will also support backward compatibility with the Rizta S and 450X, going up to Gen 3.
Brand New EL Platform
Ather has also developed their brand new state-of-the-art EL platform which has been developed using more than 26 Lakh km of field data and is tuned extensively for providing reliability, flexibility, scalability, while keeping the costs in check.
The core of the platform features a unibody steel chassis that is durable by keeping the costs down and assembly time, and according to Ather, the production will be 15% more quicker, thanks to its budget friendly platform. Ather also claims that the simple engineering design and reduced components count also contribute to easy maintenance, which ensures service intervals to 10,000 Km, ensuring periodic servicing to be completed in half the time.
Ather will be underpinning three upcoming electric scooters on this dedicated platform which includes a maxi-designed scooter featuring 14-inch wheels and 5 kWh battery for enhanced maximum range.
- A sportier model with smaller 2 kWh battery pack coming with 12-inch wheels.
- A family focussed scooter with softer suspension, longer wheelbase, wide seat and enhanced practicality with advanced features such as Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)
The company has already showcased the EL01 electric scooter, but still there is no clarity on what name the first production model will be defined. However the company has claimed that the new model would be sold over the existing 450 and Rizta lines.
AEBS: The company has also innovated the Ather’s Advanced Electronic Braking System (AEBS), which just sharpens the braking of the scooters by reducing stopping distances by a huge margin, and preventing rear-wheel lockups during emergency braking situations. This system will be working with ABS and will coexist along with ABS in future electric models of the company.
Ather Rizta Updates
Ather’s family range of scooters, the Rizta series will be also upgraded with OTA updates which will ensure the interface has been refreshed with new visuals and there is an addition of a new ECO Mode which is introduced to provide a perfect combination of performance with enhanced range.
In terms of exterior changes, there is an addition of a new Terracotta Red colour option which has been added to the existing colour options and comes with dual-tone and single tone colour shades. Users could buy the new colour at an introductory price of Rs 1.05 Lakh for Rizta S and Rs 1.30 Lakh for Rizta Z.
EL01 Concept
Ather utilized the Community Day to reveal their latest EL01 concept. This concept displays the company’s capabilities and kind of hardware customisations, this concept can enable such as the motor which is mounted on the swingarm and it also features an integrated Charge Drive Controller.
However, the EL01 is not basically a production model but a design inspiration as to how Ather’s future electric models could look and feel, with the first production model to go on sale around the festive season next year.
Enhanced Fast Charging
Ather also showcased their new fast chargers which support power exchange up to 6kW and claims that they are designed to deliver double charging speeds and has the capability to add 30 Km of range in just 10 minutes. Additional features include integrated tyre inflators on some selected chargers.
Redux Concept
Apart from showcasing production models, Ather also revealed its latest Redux, which is an innovative concept by the company defined as a “Moto Scooter”. This radical concept is constructed on a lightweight aluminium frame featuring a 3D-printed lattish mesh seat and body panels designed from AmplyTex.
Redux will be also incorporating various advanced features which have never been seen before such as adaptive ride dynamics, adjustable ergonomics, and will be loaded with all-new Morph-UI, which is a futuristic display that changes according to riding context.
As per Ather, the prototypes are the reflection of experiments, which the company is focussing on and bringing to its users in the form of digital or mechanical.
These new innovations are brought to explore new areas of responsiveness, adaptability, and rider focussed. Thus the company has crafted an all-new EL platform and EL01, which have been crafted exclusively for scaling mass-market products by creating a benchmark in this highly competitive segment.
