Audi introduced Q6 e-tron Offroad concept

There are very few electric SUVs specifically made for offroad fanatics, however Audi has recently showcased a rugged electric SUV based on the Q6 e-tron. This car is designed in a way to make it go anywhere, as the concept is having serious off-road gear, including a huge lift to suspension, bigger all-terrian tyres and major design changes.
Design Updates
Visually, the design of the SUV is quite robust and bold to give a macho SUV presence. It gets widened fender flares, chunky body cladding, and a heavy-duty roof with LED light bars.
The front bumper is also newly designed to make the concept look distinctive. It gets a new faux grille area with tow hooks finished in silver and a large bracelet housing with multiple fog lamps at each corner to give better visibility.
Detailed Insights of Audi Q6 Concept
The concept is an evolution of the Audi ActiveSphere concept that was earlier displayed in 2022. The concept also provided a framework to the standard SQ6 Sportback e-tron. The ground clearance of the car is also massive, all thanks to the big all-terrain tyres. Let’s discuss major features this concept gets to make off-roading a seamless experience.

- Audi’s ActiveSphere concept gets four portal axles that are developed from scratch and integrated into the wheel hub assemblies at the front and rear.
- Audi claims that due to the integration of portal axles, the torque at each wheel has increased by 13,400 Nm, now that’s massive! Overall increasing the torque by 50%.
- It produces a power of 516 HP, which is similar to the SQ6 e-tron, during boost mode. The speed is controlled by gears attached on each wheel.
- The top speed is 175 Kph and can climb up to 45 degrees.
The axles also elevate the axle’s centerline, what it does is it lifts the differential higher while simultaneously lowering down the wheels, in relation to the differential and axle tubes.
The ride height of the vehicle has also been increased by 160mm (6.3 inches) and its track has been widened by 250mm (9.8 inches). The similar setup has also been seen earlier on Mercedes G-Class 4*4 squared, Hammer 1, and the Unimog.
