Billion Electric Mobility is set to roll out 150 electric trucks for JK Cement.
Billion Electric Mobility has entered into a collaboration with JK Cement Limited in order to deploy more than 150 commercial heavy-duty electric trucks during the financial year for cement transportation. This deployment will slowly transition JK Cement’s freight operations to electric transportation.
The partnership will start from the deployment of 20 electric trucks with a total gross weight capacity of 55 tonnes from JK Cement’s Muddapur plant situated in Karnataka. The trucks will transfer cement to stockyards in Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Goa.
AdvertisementUnder this strategic alliance, Billion Electric Mobility will be providing electric trucks, charging infrastructure, fleet operations and route planning via its E-Mobility-as-a-Service (eMaaS) platform. This deployment will be sourced by multiple OEMs including Montra Electric & Ashok Leyland.

In order to strengthen vehicle operations, the company will utilise ChargeZone’s charging network across the key freight highways in Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Goa. The charging infrastructure will be rapidly expanded across locations like Nipani, Satara, Pune, Karad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Goa, Hubli, and Davangere.
