BYD Atto 2 is likely to launch soon. Spotted testing in India, What should we look forward to?

BYD is gearing to update their electric lineup in India by adding another electric car, which could possibly be the BYD Atto 2. The current lineup of the company includes Atto 3, Seal, eMax7, and Sealion 7. The Chinese manufacturer is giving stiff competition to Tesla and is currently testing the Atto 2, which was first displayed at 2025 Brussels Motor Show. 

Recently, BYD was seen testing the Atto 2 on the roads of India, sparking speculation that the company may be planning to launch the Atto 2 in the Indian market.

What if the BYD Atto 2 makes its way to India?

The launch of Atto 2 in India is still uncertain as the company has not confirmed the launch. However, the Chinese manufacturer is witnessing huge demand and growth in the Indian EV market, hence it could be a smart decision to introduce a cost-effective car to the budget conscious Indian market that could help the brand double its sales numbers, thus solidifying its presence in the market. 

Taking these factors into consideration, the Atto 2 could be a big launch for India. 

BYD Atto 2: What features will it offer?

BYD Atto 2 will be the brand’s next entry-level car from the Chinese manufacturer, and this could be the most cost-effective offering from BYD for India, thus attracting a majority of the Indian users looking for a budget electric car. If launched in India, the Atto 2 will be placed below the Atto 3. BYD has named the same car with different names in different countries, and the BYD Atto 2 is currently on sale in China and Brazil. 

POWER: The China-spec BYD Atto 2 was launched as Yuan Up in China and comes powered by a 45.1 kWh battery pack, integrated with a single motor generating a peak power of 175 Bhp and maximum torque of 290 Nm. The BYD Atto 2 also provides a NEDC-certified range of 380 Km on a single charge. 

However the technical details are not clear as to whether the test version spotted on Indian roads have been powered by the same electric power or not. 

The Atto 2 features compact dimensions and a feature packed modern interior. If we look at the dimensions of the Atto 2, it measures 4,310 mm long, which is slightly compact as compared to BYD Atto 3. To differentiate from its bigger sibling, the Atto 2 is designed with a more boxy shape and has an upright stance.

FEATURES: Featuring a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, the Atto 2's interior is enhanced by a specific 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. Other features consist of a panoramic sunroof, heated and power-adjustable front seats styled with a leather upholstery.
