Drivn has announced that it has secured investments of up to US$80 million from Nomura, which is subject to documentation requirements and final conditions. This proposed investment will make the company’s vision of establishing the operational framework for large-scale electric mobility in India into a reality.

The company will be investing these funds into transforming their inter-city buses and heavy commercial trucks from diesel into electric through a specific model that involves buying, owning, and leasing vehicles under long-term contracts. Drivn will be looking for various segments that are undeserved by conventional financing but offer various opportunities for net-zero carbon emissions.

Drivn Phase 1 Deployment Plan

Under Phase 1 deployment plan, Drivn will be deploying a total of 1,000 electric buses and trucks by Q4 FY27, with operations scheduled to start from February 2026.

The company has even signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with bus and logistic companies, vehicle manufacturers, charging and energy companies, and various maintenance partners in order to enhance the planned deployment, charging and reliability during the operations.

They have also aligned their operations with national initiatives such as FAME and PM-eBus Sewa. The platform also focuses on Scope 3 emissions reduction in various sectors such including logistics, cement, and steel, which will be supporting India’s goal of achieving 30% EV penetration by the end of 2030

Thus finding a perfect balance between asset ownership and data management companies, the company is looking to establish themselves as a long-term infrastructure provider for India’s transition to net-zero commercial transport.
