The Kia Carens Clavis EV has been launched, offering a range of 490 Km, with prices beginning at Rs 17.99 Lakh.

Kia has officially stepped into the highly competitive Indian EV landscape with the introduction of their inaugural all-electric Carens Clavis EV. This MPV comes with a price tag of Rs 17.99 Lakh and goes up to Rs 24.49 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). Clavis EV is underpinned on the in-house developed E-GMP platform and shares its core platform with facelifted Carens Clavis.
As stated by Kia, their latest electric MPV is engineered to provide enhanced comfort and a rewarding cabin experience. Kia will begin taking reservations for their all-electric MPV starting July 22.
Kia Carens Clavis EV: Battery & Performance
Kia has shared the same battery pack configurations coming with Hyundai Creta Electric, as it is powered with a smaller 42 kWh battery pack and a substantial 51.4 kWh battery pack integrated with a single motor churning peak power output of 169 BHP and 255 Nm of maximum torque.
Thanks to the larger battery, a substantial range of 490 Km can be achieved on a single charge, while the smaller 42 kWh battery pack is estimated to provide a range of 404 Km (ARAI) on one charge.
Kia Carens Clavis EV: Updated Design
Visually the new Carens Clavis EV is quite similar to the petrol Carens but is differentiated with some EV elements like the Clavis EV features a closed grille with a charging point located at the front. It is also equipped with LED DRLs that are highlighted across the front profile of the car.
The electric version also incorporates new 17-inch aero alloy wheels that elevates the look of the car by giving it a modern look. Kia has also provided an underbody cover, as the ground clearance is now 5 mm more than its petrol counterpart, standing at 200 mm.
Kia Carens Clavis EV: New Interiors
The Kia Carens Clavis EV is a functionally driven car which provides a load of storage space and is the most accessible three-row electric car in India. The company has engineered to provide more space by changing the position of the gear lever from its conventional position to near the steering column.
- Featuring a remarkable 26.6-inch panoramic display, the Clavis EV integrates two screens—one for the digital console and another exclusively for the infotainment system.
- Kia has provided a total of 90 connected features, with advanced features on offer such as Level 2 ADAS, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, one-touch tumble-down second row seats, ventilated front seats, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting, and a completely new air purifier.
- There is also an availability of 25-litre frunk, which creates an additional space to store important items. Clavis EV can be also charged by a 7.4 kW and 11 kW AC chargers. Kia has mentioned that more than 100 of its exclusive dealerships are now equipped with fast chargers and features a total network of 11,000 fast chargers across the country.
- Users get a 8 years/ 1,60,000 Km warranty on the purchase of Clavis EV.
