The Hyundai Ioniq 2 electric vehicle is set to be unveiled at the Munich motor show.

Hyundai is all set to reveal its all-new Ioniq 2 EV at the Munich Motor show, scheduled for September. Hyundai will be branding it as Ioniq 2 in their all-electric lineup. This all-electric compact hatchback will be competing with Renault 4, upcoming Kia EV2 and Skoda Equip in the global markets. The Hyundai Ioniq 2 will be having similar dimensions with the Hyundai Bayon.
Hyundai Ioniq 2 Design
The new Hyundai EV has been spotted testing on international roads and spy shots have confirmed that the Ioniq 2 will be having the same dimensions as of India-spec Bayon.
The images clarify that the particular hatchback has slightly raised yet raked roofline, followed by front end, which will have a striking resemblance to Ioniq 6, and will get slim LED headlights, a protruding nose, and a front bumper.
Hyundai Ioniq 2 Features
The interior of the Ioniq 2 will be complemented with more tech-enabled features, which Hyundai defines as “Step Change” for its existing models, compared to the current Ioniq line-up.
The new EV is expected to feature combined screens for instrument and infotainment display setup, which will be the main screens and will be stretched towards half of the dashboard.
Hyundai Ioniq 2 Battery & Performance
The Ioniq 2 is re-engineered on the brand’s E-GMP platform, which is used to power multiple Hyundai, Kia and Genesis EV cars. This compact Hyundai EV is expected to be powered by the same powertrains as of larger Kia EV3, as it is equipped with a 58.3 kWh battery pack and larger 81.4 kWh battery pack options with a significant range of 430 km on the smaller battery, and 600 Km on a larger battery pack.
POWER: However, the power delivery is the same in both the battery packs and front-axle mounted motor generates a peak power output of 204 HP and a maximum torque of 283 Nm.
Hyundai will be positioning their upcoming Ioniq 2 between their Inster EV and Kona Electric in the brand’s global EV lineup. For international markets, the prices are expected to be revealed in 2026. However, Hyundai has not confirmed whether they would be bringing this EV to India or not, as Hyundai is planning to introduce Inster EV and Bayon EV to the Indian market next year.
