Kia's EV9 has been awarded the title of 2026 Canadian Electric Utility Vehicle of the Year by AJAC.

Kia EV9 has been awarded as the 2026 Canadian Electric Utility Vehicle of the Year by the Automobile Journalist Association of Canada (AJAC). The car has received this award after three years of its launch in the global markets. The Kia EV9 has continued to win 50 recognition awards worldwide. 

The car was awarded at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, which included all the 2026 model-year vehicles. Kia EV9’s latest feat has solidified Kia’s presence at the prestigious AJAC awards. 

The VP and COO of Kia Canada, Elias El-Achhab, also expressed his views on this and said, “We are delighted to receive the award for EV9 by the AJAC. Apart from this, the Canadian Black Book also helped us in our efforts and commitment towards manufacturing high-quality EVs that Canadians can rely on.”

The AJAC President, Evan Williams also expressed his views on this and said, “Congratulations to Kia for securing 2026 Canadian Electric Utility Vehicle of the year for its EV9 electric SUV. The EV9 was very close to winning this title in the last two years, but this year, the EV9 bagged this award on the basis of a quality, which is a top priority for Canadians.
