Four new Mahindra SUV concepts are being teased in anticipation of the August 15 launch

Mahindra has displayed a teaser campaign called freedom_nu which has been scheduled to be announced on August 15, which will be introducing ‘new platform vision’ as it will display four new concept SUVs, while the campaign also displays Mahindra’s EV logo and ICE Twin Peaks logo, thus hinting at the platform’s multi-fuel powertrains.
Mahindra has also clarified that they will be drafting multiple new brands and each of the following concepts will be serving as a platform for developing a family of the entire product line-up.
The company has also developed a dedicated theme for each specific concept which is presented in four teasers at a top-angle view of the bonnet. Each of the suffixes with its specific design details gives details to the family of SUVs it represents. Mahindra has announced four names which are named as:
- Vision T
- Vision S
- Vision SXT
- Vision X
Mahindra Vision T
This was the first displayed teaser in the campaign and is denoted by the name ‘T’ which belongs to the vehicles associated with the Thar family. In fact, when we observed closely, it gave a glimpse of the square bonnet and boxy design which are a traditional mark of the Thar design.
Other elements like bonnet latches and all-terrain tyres were also visible which just gives a striking impression of the upcoming Thar.e concept that the brand had displayed in South Africa way back in 2023. It is also expected that this concept will be much similar to the final production variant of the Thar.e concept.
Mahindra Vision S
The Vision S gives a striking resemblance to the Scorpio family. Just like the Vision T, it also features a muscular boxy shape featuring an upright nose and flared-out wheel arches, it also revealed that the bonnet is a bit more flattish in design and comes with bonnet scoops pointed at the edges. Currently the Scorpio lineup includes the N and the Classic, followed by this upcoming third model.
Mahindra Vision SXT
The Vision SXT is still under suspense as to what it will display, but according to various details, it is expected to be related to Vision T, thus it can be an extended version of the thar family. It shares similar design cues with the Thar family which includes a similar bonnet with latches at both edges, a protruding bumper and flared wheel arches.
However it could also be a new body style as these are just our initial assumptions, as it can also be focussed for pickup trucks based on the Thar concept. Mahindra is not new to pickups as they have already revealed their new Global Pik Up concept way back in 2023.
Mahindra Vision X
Last but not the least, the Vision X concept will be based on the XUV family as it is clearly not looking boxy or rugged as the above three concepts but features sharp and sporty lines on the bonnet, hinting at a premium and urban design language. There are various speculations that it can also be the much awaited XEV 7e, which will be having a more traditional SUV design as compared to the futuristic coupe SUV styling of the XEV 9e.
XEV 7e: The XEV 7e was also spotted testing on several occasions with a striking front face of the XUV 700 with EV specific elements and interior highlights from the XEV 9e.
However there are a lot of speculated designs which will be confirmed till this Independence Day, till Mahindra officially introduces each concept with its technical specifications and release dates. But one thing is surely confirmed that Mahindra will be bringing a lot of excitement and new launches. They will be sharing their vision with the general public as to what they are thinking for the future.
