Mahindra XEV 9S Real-World Range Test Explained
The Mahindra XEV 9S is the brand’s recently launched seven-seater electric MPV and comes powered with a 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and the top-spec 79 kWh battery pack options. We recently did a range test of the top-spec Pack Three Above variant to know the exact real-world range he is able to extract with the electric SUV.
According to the range test, the Mahindra XEV 9S returned a real-world range between 470-480 Km in mixed driving conditions. The range test was performed by charging the 79 kWh battery pack to 100% SOC and by keeping the SUV mostly in ‘Range’ driving mode.

Mahindra XEV 9S Real-World Range Test 2026
During the range test, the regenerative braking was set to Level 3 and the XEV 9S provided a real-world range of 478 km in city. On the highway, the regen-level was set to Level 1 and it provided a real-world range of 477 Km, which is just 1 km less than the city range.
Overall the XEV 9S provided an average battery efficiency of 6.045 km/kWh and provided an impressive real-world range of 477.5 Km on a single charge. But when compared to its ARAI-certified range, the real-world range of the electric SUV is 201.5 km shorter than the claimed figure.
However, it also depends on weight as the XEV 9S weighs more than 2.2 tonnes and is heavier than XEV 9e, which weighs around 2,201 Kg, thus the excess weight works against the XEV 9S. Below we have provided the exact details of the test.

| City | 478 | 6.05 |
| Highway | 477 | 6.04 |
| Average | 477.5 | 6.045 |
