The Auto Expo is all about the future innovations in the automotive industry having a special focus on EVs and renewable energy, and going by this trend Mercedes has also revealed the concept CLA. Let’s deep dive into the new design philosophy and the updated powertrain the new CLA will be coming with.
New Concept Architecture & Design
Mercedes has heavily updated the new CLA with significant exterior changes for the concept car, but it retains the same signature design that connects with its signature CLA architecture. The headroom space has also been increased with a longer wheelbase. This helps to give a longer hood and boot, increasing practicality. The concept CLA will also be updated with a fully redesigned headlamp setup and fastback roofline which comes sloping from windshield to the rear end. The new illuminated grille has just made the overall appearance of the CLA concept quite attractive.

Features & Powertrains
Mercedes will be giving a variety of features in their upcoming concept CLA as it gets nappa leather upholstery with shaded crystal white and silver. Interiors will feature ambient lighting with shades of blue and violet that give a classy feel.
- Mercedes has also invented a new safety technology coming with the CLA concept, namely Child Presence Detection, which allows the cameras and breathing sensors to identify whether the child is present or not, and then the sensors enable honking to alert the driver and the AC vents enable the alert feature if the child is locked.
- Mercedes has not officially announced the powertrain options but it is likely to come with 800V electric architecture that will support fast charging of 250kW DC fast charging.
- Mercedes will become the first automotive manufacturer to implement this technology in the fast charging tech. The Mercedes CLA concept will come with a RWD motor producing around 231.7 HP of power, connected with two speed transmission.
