Mercedes will not distinguish between the designs of electric and ICE cars.
Mercedes has confirmed that they will not change the designs between electric cars and its internal combustion-engine models.
The member of the Board of management, Mathias Geisen, who is responsible for the sales and customer experience division expressed his views on the 2026 S Class facelift’s launch event and said, “Both our ICE and EV models will share the same design language.”
Mercedes Upcoming Car’s Design
Going by the past of Mercedes, they have differentiated between the design language of the S-Class and EQS, as compared to the BMW 7 series and the i7. Geisen further addressed, “Our customers prioritize signature Mercedes design irrespective of which powertrain they choose.”

The Chief Design Officer of Mercedes, Gorden Wagener also said on this, “Currently, The flagship S-Class segment is dominated by the likes of ICE,” thus hinting that Mercedes could switch back to more traditional design language.
Geisen also accepted the fact that the company had high hopes for EVs, as he stated, “EVs are the future, but it's hard to predict its future.”
