Tesla Model Y Performance AWD has been unveiled, boasting a range of 580km.

Tesla has finally taken the wraps from their top-spec Model Y Performance variant, which provides a WLTP certified range of 580 Km on a single charge with several enhancements on the exterior and variety of features as compared to the Long Range model, which is currently launched in India. 

Tesla Model Y Performance Battery & Range

Tesla has not revealed the exact battery size or the power and torque figures of the Model Y Performance variant. The All-Wheel Drive variant of the Model Y performance, as claimed by Tesla, can accelerate from 0-100 in just 3.5 seconds, making it 1.3 seconds faster than the international AWD long range model and roughly 2.1 seconds quicker than the RWD Long Range model available in India.

The top speed of the Model Y performance variant is electronically controlled up to 250 km/hr and as per Tesla, the Performance variant can provide 243 Km of range with just 15 minutes of fast. There is also an inclusion of selectable ride modes to adjust the suspension according to different terrains and speeds. 

Tesla Model Y Performance Updated Design

If we examine the other versions of the Model Y, the fully loaded flagship variant is equipped with larger 21-inch Arachnid alloy wheels and features a special badge, thus giving it a branding of the performance variant. However, the colour options are the same as other standard and Long Range variants and gets six different colour shades with only Pearl White Multi-coat colour option to come standard with the car’s cost. 

The optional colour shades include Diamond Black, Stealth Grey, Deep Blue Metallic, Quicksilver and Ultra Red colour schemes. To distinguish the interiors from its other variants, the Performance variant is complemented by carbon-fibre finish and sports seats, 15 speakers integrated with 1 subwoofer premium audio system, and all the features of the Long Range variant, currently on sale across the country. 

Tesla Model Y Price in India

In India, Tesla is selling the Model Y with Standard and Long Range variants coming with RWD, and is priced at an introductory price of Rs 59.87 Lakh for the Standard trim, followed by Long Range model costing Rs 67.89 lakh. However, the company has not given any details about the launch of the Performance AWD version in India.
