Montra Electric has introduced the E-27 electric tractor priced at Rs 10.75 lakh.

Montra Electric, which is an electric mobility company of the Murugappa Group has entered into the electric tractor segment by introducing Montra Electric E-27, which is an ARAI-certified electric commercial tractor. The product was displayed at the 9th edition of EIMA Agrimach India 2025, which organises events on farm mechanization. 

The E-27 will be available on a network expanding across 17 dealerships in 10 states, with an introductory price of Rs 10.75 lakh.

POWER: The E-27 generates a peak power of 27 HP and 90 Nm of peak torque via a PMSM electric motor. It also comes with 2WD and 4WD drivetrain options. The tractor comes with a 22.37 kWh LFP battery which has a significant runtime of around 4.5 hours and an approx charging time of 2 hours and 15 minutes. 

The model also comes with 8F+2R side-shift transmission, dual-speed PTO (540 and 1000 rpm), and with a hydraulic lifting capacity of 720 kg. 

Montra Electric states that electric tractors can marginally cut operating costs by more than 70% due to the complete stop of diesel usage, which ultimately leads to a lower maintenance cost, with potential savings of around Rs 10 lakh over a period of five years as compared to diesel models. The tractor is specifically designed to produce less noise and vibration.

Montra Electric has currently spread its business into four directions, which includes heavy commercial vehicles, mid and small commercial vehicles, last-mile three-wheelers, and electric tractors. Its current lineup comprises various products such as the 55-ton electric truck, 3.5-Ton small commercial vehicle Eviator, followed by Super Auto and Super Cargo.
