Oben Electric reveals the O100 Platform, designed to facilitate a new electric bike costing under Rs 1 Lakh.

Oben Electric, a Bangalore based electric two-wheeler company will be designing their affordable electric motorcycles on a completely new platform called O100. This platform will underpin a range of cost-effective electric motorcycles which will be in sub Rs 1 Lakh category and will be positioned to the entry-level 100 cc motorcycle segment.

Oben O100 Platform specifically designed for Electric Motorcycles

Constructed in-house at Oben's R&D center in Bangalore, the brand new platform O100 showcases the company's innovative capabilities. According to the company, the new O100 platform will be utilized to develop multiple electric powertrains supporting multiple battery pack powertrains and multiple models. 

The new platform is developed to cater the needs of future innovations and can allow future technologies and various technological upgrades to seamlessly merge in its platform.

The Founder and CEO of Oben Electric, Madhumita Agarwal expressed her views and said, “Oben Electrics design vehicles with an objective to solve the challenges associated with electric mobility. Our newly developed platform is constructed to power India’s daily urban electric motorcycles which consumers use for regular urban commutes. 

The ultimate aim of this platform is to make electric two-wheelers affordable for every Indian. By seamlessly integrating our in-house manufactured LFP batteries and other important components like motor, VCU, and chargers, we will be building an advanced and robust foundation for our next generation electric vehicles, thus increasing the EV transition to a revolutionary level.”

Oben is striving to boost its production capacity and expand its footprint in Tier I, II, and III cities. The goal is to launch 100 showrooms by the close of 2025. Thus this newly developed platform will rapidly increase the sales of electric motorcycles. 

Currently, Oben Electric’s lineup includes two electric motorcycles, Rorr and Rorr EZ electric bikes. These models are constructed on the ARK platform. The Oben Rorr is the top-spec offering from the company. The upcoming electric motorcycles will have fewer features and are all set to launch by the end of 2025.
