River has updated their electric portfolio as they have launched a revised iteration of new Indie Gen 3 electric scooter, bringing a diverse range of modern features which have been provided to enhance the tech features and overall usability, especially for urban commutes. The brand has competitively priced the Indie Gen 3 by launching at a price of Rs 1.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
River Indie Gen 3 Updated Features
River has upgraded the Indie Gen 3 by providing additional enhancements which includes upgraded tyres for superior grip and handling, a redesigned new display with better graphics, clearer range indication, charging statistics, and seamless app connectivity which provides crucial rider information like real-time charging status, and various other ride information, which is customisable.
There is also an inclusion of various safety features such as Hill-hold assist and the company has also stated that the riding dynamics are also enhanced according to rider’s suggestions and advice, in order to provide a superior riding experience.
The Indie Gen 3 also comes with a substantial 43 litres of underseat storage which is one of the most core strengths of the scooter, followed by an additional 12 litres of glove box space. It comes with a total of five colour shades, with contrasting black accents.
River Indie Gen 3 Battery & Performance
The performance of the River-Indie remains the same as the scooter is powered by the same 4 kWh battery pack and provides a significant IDC range of 163 Km on a single charge. The electric motor produces a maximum power output of 6.7 kW and can reach the peak top speed of 90 km/hr.
According to River, the total charging time to juice up the batteries from 0-80% of Indie Gen 3 is around five hours. There is also an inclusion of disc brakes which have been equipped at both ends with a combined braking system made for immediate stops ensuring confidence even at high speeds.
River Expanding in North Region
The new scooter was introduced at the company’s inaugural Delhi store situated in Rajouri Garden, which will be expanding the footprint of the company’s northern hub. Including this, River has a total network of 34 retail outlets across the country which is spread across key metropolitan areas like Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kochi, Coimbatore, Patna and Hubli.
River’s roots were established in Bengaluru and now the company wants to diversify its networks to 80 stores by March 2026 and are planning to expand their networks, with upcoming showrooms in Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat, thus strengthening their position across middle and northern India.
