Skoda has presented its closest production model of its all-new Equip electric SUV at the Munich Motor Show in Germany. This SUV was first displayed as a concept in March 2024. The SUV measures 4.1 meters in length, as the Skoda Equip the brand’s most compact EV when it will be launched in the international markets in 2026.

The Equip EV from Skoda will be positioned lower than the Elroq, which has a length of 4.4 meters and is supported by the MEB platform, also utilized by other small electric vehicles from the VW Group.

Skoda Equip Design Inspiration

The previewed version of the Equip, which is the closer-to-production version shares the design aesthetics which have a striking resemblance to the original concept which is developed according to Skoda’s Modern Solid Design Language. As per the company, the heavily updated second version coming to showrooms will be having no major changes.

As compared to the original concept, the major changes are to the lighting setup with updated front and rear bumpers. The face of the design is inspired by Skoda’s new ‘Tech Dark’ face and the headlamps with the T-shaped DRLs are more protruded out featuring eight vertical slats presented on the bumper.

The rear is also followed by the same theme, with the pronounced shoulder line of the Equip EV being one of the most important highlights of the electric SUV’s design language, which is defined as ‘Tornado Line’ by Skoda.

Skoda Equip Features & Interiors

Skoda has not officially showcased the interiors of the production-ready model yet, but the original concept highlighted a minimalistic cabin with a small instrument panel integrated with the large central infotainment screen.

The company has also added physical buttons on the center console for added flexibility and also provided haptic screw wheels located at the new two-spoke steering wheel.

Skoda stated that they have designed the interiors by prioritizing practicality and usability and providing smart storage which includes bag hooks, fasteners and some underfloor compartments for users in order to elevate the user experience. The brand has also assured that the SUV is designed to accommodate five people with ease and comfort offering an enhanced boot space of 475 litres.

Skoda Equip Battery & Platform Details

The company has not revealed the technical specifications of the Equip yet but has clarified that the SUV will provide a significant range of 425 Km on a single charge. The Equip EV will be based on Skoda’s MEB Entry architecture, which will be also utilized in the next-generation ID Polo, displayed at the Munich Motor Show.

It is expected that Equip will be powered by a 38 kWh battery pack and a substantial 56 kWh battery pack integrated with front-wheel drive powertrains. The Equip will also support V2V and V2L charging tech.

Skoda has announced that the final production version will be launched in 2026. At the same time, the company is working on a seven-seat electric SUV, which will take cues from the Vision 7S concept introduced in 2023.
