Suzuki has finally introduced its first electric scooter, the Suzuki e-Access in the Indian market at an introductory price of Rs 1.88 lakh as the company has started accepting the pre-bookings of its first electric scooter. The e-Access will be the brand’s official entry into the Indian electric two-wheeler market.

Suzuki has also provided different colour shades with a new dual-tone option such as Matte Blue with Gray, providing a total of four colour shades. 

Suzuki e-Access Battery & Architecture

The e-Access is underpinned by Suzuki’s in-house electric architecture also defined as Suzuki e-Technology. The e-Access derives power from a 3 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, which offers a longer life than conventional NMC batteries, as claimed by the company. 

Suzuki E-Access Launched

It provides a claimed IDC range of 95 Km on a single charge. According to Suzuki, the battery and drivetrain have been subjected to extensive testing and development which includes severe tests such as water submersion, thermal stress, vibration and drop tests, which are as per global standards. 

POWER: The Suzuki e-Access generates power from a 4.1 kW swingarm electric motor generating 15 Nm of peak torque. The scooter comes with three riding modes which includes Eco, Ride A, and Ride B. Apart from this, it also features regenerative braking and a reverse assist function. 

As per Suzuki, the throttle responses even at low battery is constant which is very important for EV owners, as they could drive the scooters at low battery SOC. 

Suzuki E-Access Launched

CHASSIS: The e-Access comes with a lightweight frame with an aluminium battery case attached to its core structure which provides a superior rigidity and stability especially at high speeds. It is also equipped with a belt final drive, which is maintenance free as claimed by Suzuki, and will be offered across the entire network. 

Suzuki will be selling the e-Access through its established network of over 1,200 dealerships across the country. The network also provides DC fast charging at more than 240 outlets, while portable AC chargers are available as standard across the network. 

Suzuki e-Access Price

The Suzuki e-Access comes at an introductory price of Rs 1.88 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and the company has started accepting the pre-bookings, with delivery expected to be started soon. At this price point, it will be going against the likes of recently launched Simple One Gen 2 (Rs 1.70 lakh) and the Ather 450 Apex (Rs 1.90 lakh). 

Suzuki E-Access Launched

Going by the price, it is quite expensive for what it is offering as it costs more than the 5.3 kWh variant of the TVS iQube, which is priced competitively at Rs 1.58 lakh. The company is offering a 7 year/ 80,000 km extended warranty at no extra cost and a buy back assurance of 60% for 3 years.
