Tata Motors has ambitious plans for FY26, focusing on expanding its electric vehicle lineup to popularize electric cars.

Tata Motors is planning to ramp up their EV productions till next year and are looking for mainstreaming electric cars by FY26. The Indian manufacturer currently holds a majority of share in Indian electric passenger space and are planning to introduce advanced new electric cars and revise the existing ones in order to hold the position in the Automotive segment.
Tata Motors addressed this point in a post-result investor presentation that they will be strengthening their EV portfolio with new advanced launches integrated with top notch futuristic features. The company will be also strengthening the quality of the existing products by updating them in the form of facelifts.
Tata’s Dedicated EV Strategy
This strategy is implemented by Tata Motors to make EVs as a mainstream option for consumers in the Indian passenger car industry. The Harrier EV, Tata Motors' flagship electric SUV, is scheduled for release in India on June 3. Following this, Tata will be soon launching the Sierra EV which has grabbed a lot of attention after its first display of its concept.
These upcoming SUVs were highlighted at the Auto Expo 2025. Tata will be positioning these upcoming electric SUVs in the existing lineup of EVs. It is important to note that Harrier EV and Sierra EV are completely next generation all-new products, while the other EVs will receive significant updates in the form of facelifts.
This strategy has been formulated at the moment when Tata Motos have received a drop of 10% in its EV sales in FY25. Thus this strategy comes as the biggest move by Tata Motors towards developing a sustainable growth blueprint to become the key leader in the passenger vehicle segment in FY26.
If we look at the ICE vehicle segment, Tata Motors expressed that they are aiming to develop their strongest yet most futuristic portfolio by bringing technology upgrades across hatches and SUVs.
