The 45kWh variants of the Tata Nexon EV have been awarded a 5-star BNCAP safety rating.

The Tata Nexon EV, featuring 45 kWh models, proudly holds a 5-Star rating from Bharat NCAP, raising the bar for safety. With this, the entire lineup of Nexon is 5-star certified in the domestic crash test rating. 

The Nexon EV 45 kWh scored an impressive 29.86 out of 32 points in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and a respectable 44.95 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection (COP). 

Tata has also previously tested the Nexon EV 30 kWh variant, which also achieved an impressive 5-Star BNCAP rating last year, which means the complete Nexon portfolio has scored the highest possible overall safety rating domestically. 

Tata Nexon EV 45 kWh Adult Safety Results

In the frontal offset deformable test, the Nexon EV 45 kWh exhibited robust safety features for the head, neck, chest, pelvis, thighs, and left tibia, but the right tibia's protection was lacking.

Side Deformable Barrier Test: 15.60/16 Points: The Side Pole impact test was also resulted as “Good” and was pretty much the same for the side movable deformable barrier test. The child protection was marked as “Adequate”.

Dynamic Score: 23.95/24 Points

Child Restraint System (CRS) Installation Score: 12/12 Points

Vehicle Assessment Score: 9/13 Points

The dynamic score for the 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies was an outstanding 4 out of 4, with the frontal protection rating for the 18-month-old dummy at 7.95 out of 8, while the 3-year-old dummy achieved a perfect score of 8 out of 8.

Tata Nexon EV 45 kWh BNCAP Score vs Competition

xIf we look at the competition, then its chief rival Mahindra XUV400 has scored a significant 30.38 out of 29.86, which is considerably less than Tata Nexon EV in COP (43 VS 44.95), proving that the all variant of Nexon lineup is considerably safer than its competitors and are now 5-star certified in BNCAP crash test ratings.
