Tata Punch EV Gets 5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating

The Punch EV was recently tested in the latest Bharat NCAP crash tests in 2026 and secured a five-star rating. The electric compact SUV scored 31.09 out of 32 points for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 45 out of 49 points for Child Occupant Protection (COP). The tested variant was the Punch EV Adventure 40, and Empowered+ S 40 variant.

Punch EV Crash Test Results 

If we look at the test results of Adult Occupant Protection, the Punch EV scored a total of 31.09 out of 32. The vehicle also emerged as “OK” result in the side pole impact test. Below, we have mentioned the exact results of other tests as well.

Child Occupant Protection 

The Punch EV scored 45 out of 49 points in the Child Occupant Protection. For 18-month old and 3-year old child, Bharat NCAP used the Joie i-Spin Safe child restraint system. The child seats were installed via i-SIZE ISOFIX/LEG setup in a rearward-facing (RWF) position.

The tested model included standard front airbags for the driver and passenger, side curtain airbags, side chest airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), pedestrian protection and seat belt reminders. There is also an inclusion of ISOFIX child seat mounts specifically provided for second-row seats.
