The Top-spec variant of the Tesla Model Y tailored for India now boasts an extra 39 km of range.

Tesla has introduced the updated Model Y in India which has taken over the July 2025 launched two variants on offer coming with Standard RWD and Long Range RWD, returning a claimed range of 622 Km on a single charge, which is WLTP certified.
However, the American manufacturer has enhanced the WLTP range of the top of the line Long Range model up to 661 Km on a single charge, which is 39 Km more than the previous model.
Tesla Model Y Updated Battery & Range.
Since its debut in the Indian roads in July 2025, Tesla has offered the fully loaded Long Range RWD variant, powered with a 78.1 kWh battery pack providing a WLTP-certified range of 621 Km on a single charge. However, Tesla has quietly increased the range with a significant update by providing 661 Km on a single charge (39 Km more than previous range figures).
According to various reports, this increased range is achieved with a substantial 84.2 kWh battery pack powering the Model Y. However, the rear motor mounted on the rear axle remains the same and it accelerates from 0-100kph in the same 5.6 seconds of peak time.
The standard model with the RWD variant comes powered with the same 64 kWh battery pack offering a claimed range of 500 Km on a single charge (WLTP-certified). The rear-axle mounted electric motor generating the same 299 HP is also the same with no technical changes in the car.
Apart from the battery pack and the additional claimed range figures, everything else remains the same on the Model Y, from featuring the sleek visual design to the feature-loaded cabin, everything is identical as before.
Tesla Model Y Price in India.
With the updated battery on the Model Y, Tesla has not revised the prices for the Model Y. The standard variant is available at an introductory price of Rs 59.89 lakh, while the top-spec Long Range model comes at a price of Rs 67.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
