Tata Tiago EV Real-World Range Analysis
The Tiago EV is one of the most popular entry-level electric cars in the Indian market and comes with two battery pack options, a 19.2 kWh battery pack and a substantial 24 kWh. We recently enquired with a user of the Tiago EV to know the exact range he is able to extract with the car.
According to the user, the Tiago EV returned a real-world range of 160-185 Km on a full charge. He shared his full experience of 6 months usage with us and also shed a light on the performance of Tiago EV.
Tata Tiago EV Real-World Range (100% to 0%)
According to the user’s testing and experience, the Tiago EV returned a better range in the city as compared to the highway because of regen. After using the car for a longer period of time, the user confirmed that the Tiago EV gives the best range when driven constantly at 40-60 km/hr on an open road.

In summary, if it is majorly driven on highway at a constant speed, then the EV can give even better range than it provides in the city. He confirmed this as had driven his Tiago EV on western/eastern highways of Mumbai, rather than normal city commutes.
The user also stated that in the first 6 months, he was getting approx real-world range figures of 140-160 Km on full charge in city commutes. (He calculated this by resetting the trip meter to zero on 100% SOC)
However, the user was not satisfied as he was expecting a 200 km range. The regen levels were set to mode 2 or 3 during the drive.

After 3 months: However, after 3 months of time period, the Tiago EV provided 160-185 km on a full charge, which is around 25 km more than the previous range figures. The real reason could be driving EV more sedately over time.
Weather Conditions
The user also told us that weather conditions (Outside Temperature) also play an important role. However, the user was not aware of the BMS software and whether it was updated or not by Tata in the last service.
| Weather Conditions | Tata Tiago Battery Usage |
| May-July (Summers) | 14% - 16% |
| November (Winter) | 11.4% |
| December (Winter) | 8.5% |

As per the User, in peak summer months in areas like Mumbai, the climate control used to take approx 14% to 16% of the battery and in the winter months from November and December, this value was at 11.4 and 8.5% respectively. This data was collected by the ZConnect app.
However, according to our opinion, on the open highways, if we maintain the speed of 40-80 km/hr, then it is possible to achieve a real world-range of 200 Km on the Tiago EV with A/C on all the time.
