Uno Minda Limited has approved a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for setting up an entirely new manufacturing facility especially focussed towards casting components at Sambhaji Nagar, Aurangabad. This plant will execute operations to address the surging demand from OEMs for casting components for electric vehicles.

If we talk about the new proposed facility, the ultimate objective of the facility is to produce 3,629 metric tonnes per annum, and this goal has to be achieved in a systematic phased manner over the period of next five years.

Phase 1

Phase 1 is expected to start its operations in the second half of FY 2026-27. The estimated total capital expenditure for the project will cost approximately Rs 210 Crore, which will be funded via a mix of internal accruals and long term loans.

This endeavor forms part of Uno Minda's plan to grow its business within the electric vehicle market. Right now, the company's existing casting capabilities and the specific application of EV parts are nearly zero.
