Vietnamese manufacturer Vinfast is all set to bring revolution to the Indian market. The brand will debut in India with its two latest offerings VF6 and VF7. Earlier this year, VF7 was spotted testing on Indian roads, and now VF6 has been spotted without any camouflage from being offloaded from a trailer on a truck.

The forthcoming electric SUV was observed in a red tint, concealed under a white sheet to maintain the paint's appearance. However, the SUV was a left-hand drive vehicle which means it is brought by the company to be displayed for the general public, as Vinfast is using a nice strategy to display their latest offerings VF6 and VF7 in malls, in order to showcase it to the general audience, thus creating a buzz before its release.

VinFast VF6 Technical Specifications

Visually, the VF6 has compact SUV dimensions and is powered by a 59.6 kWh battery pack, available with two variants such as Eco and Plus, providing a significant NEDC certified range of 460-480 Km. The motor generates a peak power ranging from 177 PS/250 Nm to around 204 PS/310 Nm.

In terms of features, VinFast will be loading the VF6 with plenty of advanced technology features such as a 12.9-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a heads-up display, and 8-way power-adjustable seats. The car is fitted with exceptional safety features such as ESC, Hill-Start Assist, Blind-spot detection, Automatic Emergency Braking, and a 360 Degree Camera.

VinFast plans to roll out the VF6 featuring an array of color options such as Brahminy White, Crimson Red, Neptune Grey, and Jet Black.

VinFast's EVs displayed in India

VinFast is currently incorporating a strategy of showcasing their upcoming models in the shopping malls of major prime cities to the general public with an aim to create a strong presence in the emerging Indian EV market before its launch. They want to establish a seamless connection with urban, eco-conscious consumers.

You can see the electric vehicles prominently featured at key spots such as Select City Walk and Pacific Mall in Delhi, Express Avenue in Chennai, Lulu Malls in Bengaluru, along with Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Lucknow, Phoenix Mall in Pune, and Nexus in Ahmedabad.

VinFast’s Vision

VinFast’s entry in India is supported by a humongous $2 billion dollar investment towards developing manufacturing facilities and reshaping the infrastructure.

The company’s facility in Tamil Nadu in Thoothukudi is expected to start its operations in June-July 2025, thus initially working on assembling completely knocked-down (CKD) kits, with a vision to expand to its full potential of manufacturing 1,50,000 vehicles per annum. After the start of the production process, VinFast is aiming to expand into Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
