Volkswagen has provided a glimpse of its latest ID.Cross, which had been kept under wraps for a long period of time. The German manufacturer has teased the electric SUV on its Instagram handle, showcasing the car without camouflage for the first time.

The Volkswagen ID.Cross was first displayed at the IAA Mobility Auto Show as a concept last year, as the electric version of the T-Cross. This teaser has also displayed important highlights of the electric SUV. It has also provided a first glimpse of the interiors of its close-to production model.

Volkswagen ID.Cross Key Details 

The teaser displays some fresh details of the upcoming SUV, which includes new alloy wheel design, triple-horizontal signature styling cues on the rear quarter panel, leatherette/fabric seats finished in greyish-black shade and steering wheel with malfunction buttons. 

Apart from this, it also gets an inclusion of gloss black roof and side mirrors, front parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, and a massive floating display for the driver’s instrument cluster and the infotainment screen is also seen in the teaser.

Volkswagen ID.Cross Battery & Range

According to Volkswagen, the ID.Cross is expected to be powered by a 37 kWh and a substantial 52 kWh battery pack.
 
POWER: The entry level model is equipped with lithium iron phosphate, or LFP battery chemistry paired with a 37 kWh capacity. This setup is paired with a front-mounted electric motor generating 116 Hp of maximum power output and 135 Hp of power in the top-spec variant. 

The larger 52 kWh battery gets Nickel-Mangenese-Cobalt (NMC) chemistry. This version generates 211 Hp of peak power and has a top speed of 160 km/hr, while extending the driving range of 436 Km. Both battery packs generate maximum torque of 290 Nm for instant acceleration.

Volkswagen ID.Cross India Launch 

The ID.Cross is expected to launch between September and November this year. However, Volkswagen has not confirmed its plans for India at the moment.
