Windsor EV registers 256% of annual growth for JSW MG Motor India’s sales in January

Windsor EV has struck the chords of EV consumers and has become one of the most selling electric cars for MG as it has registered 256% year-on-year growth with sales amounting to 4,455 units for January 2025. MG says that their electric vehicle segment amounts to 70% of their total sales, which is substantially higher.
MG has several electric cars in its lineup with Windsor, ZS EV, and comet models in the electric segment and the Windsor being a key growth driver in the segment.
The Trend of Growth for MG Motors
JSW MG Motors sales graph has been quite unstable as it recorded a 40% decline as per month-on-month volumes. It sold 7,516 units in December 2024. Here Windsor converted their sales as it is currently one of the best selling electric vehicles in the country, crossing 10,000 sales figures in December.
Windsor also retained the best selling EV in January 2025 also. It even gets a price revision of up to Rs 50,000.
Looking beyond, MG motors has an exciting range of upcoming cars that will further strengthen its position in the electric mobility space.
They have even announced new MG Select premium dealerships, while will be selling MG’s brand new electric sportscar, Cyberster and the MG 9, electric luxury panel van. Both car’s prebookings will start from February 1, 2025.

MG Windsor Battery Specs and Performance
The Windsor is based on a born EV platform and produces power by a 38 kWh LFP with prismatic cells that have a certified range of 331 Km. The motor is front-axle and churns power of 136 HP and 200 Nm of torque. It even gets four driving modes: Eco, Eco+, Normal and Sport.
MG has also given a feature of fast charging for the Windsor at 45kW, through which the batteries can be charged from 0 to 80% in 55 minutes.
- An option of 3.3kW and 7.7kW AC chargers will also be available, which have a capacity of charging the Windsor in about 14 hours and 6.5 hours respectively.

MG Windsor Features and Tech
Windsor’s updated feature list announces a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment, and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, A first in segment 135-degree reclining seats and wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
- It even gets ventilated front seats, powered driver’s seat, 9-speaker infinity sound system, and a wireless phone charging.
- A panoramic glass roof and ambient lighting is also provided.
- Interiors come with good space on offer with a flat floor and a large floating console with cupholders.
- Safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, all four disc brakes, front and rear parking sensors, ESC, and a 360 Degree Camera.
