ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems India Limited (CVCS) has entered into an agreement with an Indian electric commercial vehicle OEM to manufacture and integrate an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite which is developed to follow the upcoming Indian safety regulation (GSR 184e). 

The ADAS provides 16 functions which includes Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), Blind Spot Information System (BSIS), Driver Drowsiness and Attention warning system (DDAWS), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), and Moving Off Information Systems (MOIS). 

These solutions are certified by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) under compliance with GSR 184e. The business agreement covers ADAS components made specifically for 13.5-meter coaches, heavy-duty commercial trucks (55 Ton), tractor-trailers, and buses (7m, 9m, 12m).

The system is also equipped with SAE Level 2 automation and provides higher automation levels for global applications. According to ZF, their ADAS system has been tested for more than 30,000 Km on Indian roads and around 65,000 Km in partnership with customers. It has been developed according to the Indian homologation standards, which comprises.

  • AIS-184 (DDAW)
  • AIS-186 (BSIS)
  • AIS-187 (MOIS)
  • AIS-188 (LDWS)

According to the company, the particular ADAS solution is developed to support the future automation requirements and the evolving safety regulations in commercial transportation.
