Blinq Mobility Pvt. Ltd. which is an electric mobility company, has raised Rs 4.3 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by 8i Ventures. The round also witnessed support from IIMA Ventures, AIC Banasthali Vidyapith, and other groups of Angel Investors. 

The company stated that these raised funds will be further invested to support product development, vehicle prototyping, development of battery-swapping infrastructure, and pilot fleet developments which will be focussing towards majority of urban mobility utilization.

Blinq Mobility Vision 

Blinq Mobility is currently working on developing electric four-wheelers equipped with battery swapping. Unlike traditional electric cars that are heavily dependent on battery swapping within a short period of time. According to the company, this approach reduces vehicle downtime and allows seamless operation, specifically for commercial fleet-based applications. Blinq mobility The startup is underpinning modular electric vehicles, where the battery will be a different component and will be detachable from the vehicle. Currently, the company is currently enhancing vehicle utilization and bringing down the operational costs for fleet operators. 

  • Blinq Mobility will be also developing advanced modular vehicle engineering and product development, formation of autonomous battery-swapping systems, and complete vehicle certification and homologation with deploying pilot fleets in campuses. 
  • Blinq will be also organising pilot programmes specifically with fleet operators and ride-hailing platforms in order to expand its engineering capabilities.

Blinq Mobility was founded by a team having expertise in electric vehicles, battery systems, and automotive engineering. The Founder and CEO of the company, Nikish Bisht is an IIT Delhi Graduate and former CTO of Velmocon Technologies. 

The founding team comprises a former Tesla Engineer, Ankit Kumar, Abhilasha, who will be focussing on electrical systems and battery architecture, Yashdeep, working on product and manufacturing, and Sushmita which will be looking for partnerships and leading the operations within the company.
