The latest flagship electric SUV of Tata Lineup, the Harrier EV is grabbing a lot of attention and eyeballs from the EV industry. Coming with a variety of segment first features, the Harrier EV has solidified the manufacturer’s position in the Indian passenger electric car market.

Tata Harrier with multitude of futuristic technology is giving a stiff competition to its rivals such as Mahindra XEV 9e and Mahindra BE 6. Thus if you are planning to purchase an electric SUV in a budget of Rs 20-25 Lakh segment and are confused between these three SUVs, then look at the important features that Harrier EV gets over its competitors.

Digital IRVM Integrated with DashCam

One of the main highlights of Harrier EV is the digitally equipped IRVM with an attached Dashcam. What IRVM does is it shows the live video recorded by the roof mounted camera. It basically shows the rear footage of the electric SUV.

Featuring soft touch buttons, the IRVM allows users to take snapshots of their view and zoom in and out to delve into the details of particular images or watch videos. It also aids in accessing old recorded videos and images. On the other hand, the Mahindra BE 6 is fitted with a conventional auto-dimming camera.

Summon Mode

One of the most remarkable and exhilarating aspects of the Harrier EV is its Summon Mode, which permits users to remotely maneuver the vehicle forward and backward with the key fob, and that too without entering the vehicle, thus controlling the car from outside.

This electric SUV also comes with a reverse assist function that just records the driving pattern of the last 50 meters of the driver and can automatically follow the pattern in the same way. On the flip side, the Mahindra BE 6 features self-parking capabilities, but it does not come with the advanced reverse memory option.

Bigger Touchscreen

The Harrier EV by Tata boasts a Samsung 14.5-inch QLED touchscreen infotainment system packed with numerous connected features, while the Mahindra BE 6 is equipped with a smaller 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment screen.

Transparent Mode

Some time back 360 Degree Camera functionality was the trend as all automakers were giving this feature to make their offerings attractive. Tata has gone ahead and given an advanced 540-Degree Camera view to enhance the accessibility of the driver.

The 540-Degree Camera angle allows the user to see the view of terrain below the vehicle which helps to ease the driving especially on rough terrains while off-roading. The Mahindra BE 6 offers a regular 360-Degree camera with an added functionality of Blind Spot Detection, but doesn’t provide any views from beneath the vehicle.

Terrain Select Mode

The Harrier EV boasts impressive power thanks to the dual motors connected to each axle, allowing users to harness this power across various terrains. It offers multiple terrain modes, including Normal, Rock Crawl, Mud Ruts, Snow/Grass, Sand, and a customizable option. If we look at the modes of Mahindra BE 6, then it features only three drive modes which are Range, Everyday, and Race.

Rear Seat Boss Mode

The electric Boss Mode allows the rear occupants to adjust the front co-passenger seats electronically, which enhances the practicality of the SUV by increasing the legroom by providing access to rear passengers.

The Mahindra BE 6 in comparison comes with powered front seats with memory function for the driver’s seat, but doesn’t allow Bose mode functionality.

All-Wheel Drive (AWD)

Tata has made the Harrier EV exciting by providing All-Wheel Drive AWD, thus channelising the inner off-roading of the enthusiasts. Defined as Christened Quad Wheel Drive (QWD), this technology uses dual motors, each powering one axle, thus generating power to all four wheels.

In comparison, Mahindra BE 6 is offered with a regular rear-wheel drive setup, which is standard across all variants.
