Kia India has achieved excellent growth and registered the highest ever monthly EV sales since its entry into India's highly competitive market in June 2022 with its latest EV6 crossover. In the festive season of October 2025, the Indian version of the Korean car manufacturer delivered an impressive 658 EVs, which is the third consecutive month of three-figure sales.

This is a big feat for Kia as they have never sold more than 90 units a month during the time span of October 2022 and July 2025. However, this low sales figure was shattered when the company clocked sales of over 100 units for the first time in the month of August 2025, followed by a significant increase with 528 units in September, and reaching an all-time high of 658 units in the month of October.

Kia’s strong performance in the month of October is a month-on-month growth of 25%, giving it a significant share of 4% share of the overall electric passenger vehicle market which recorded a total sales of 18,036 units in the month of festive season.

Due to this impressive growth, Kia India has been ranked at the No. 9 position among the e-PV OEMs a year ago and has witnessed a jump five ranks to become the No. 4 e-PV OEM in October 2025, and is steady at its No. 5 position in September 2025 which is close to 528 units. The company has also beaten key players like BYD India and Hyundai Motor India

Growing Demand for the Carens EV

This growth trajectory for Kia is solely responsible due to the increasing demand for their recently launched mass-market Carens Clavis EV-MPV, which is an all-electric version of the new Cares Clavis MPV, which was introduced as a facelift in 2025 to the popular Carens with six and seven seater options in May 2025.

Apart from the Clavis EV, the existing lineup of Kia includes EV6 and EV9, which is imported via CBU route into the country and is more expensive than the made-in-India Carens Clavis EV. The increasing demand for the electric MPV is generated because of its high-on affordability factor which originates from Kia’s first made-in-India EV and sharing of parts with Hyundai Motor India.
