Lexus has introduced its all-new electric TZ, which is the company’s first three-row all-electric SUV. The new Luxury EV has derived inspiration from Lexus “Driving Lounge” concept, with a dedicated focus towards providing superior passenger comfort, and cabin space.

The TZ will be positioned above the RZ in the Lexus EV portfolio and will serve as an electric sibling to the electric Toyota Highlander, introduced for the EV market.

The TZ will be underpinned by a dedicated EV platform and will be available with a dual-motor all-wheel drive configuration providing WLTP claimed range, packed with a 76.96 kWh, and a substantial 95.8 kWh battery pack.

Visually, the TZ is designed with an upright and angular design as compared to the smaller RZ, while retaining the signature spindle-body styling of Lexus. On the front, it is equipped with a closed-off grille area equipped with an illuminated Lexus logo featuring C-shaped headlamps and L-shaped DRLs.

The electric SUV also includes flush-fitting door handles and smooth body surfacing which enhances aerodynamic efficiency. Lexus claims a drag coefficient of 0.27. Coming towards the side, the TZ gets a 3,050 mm long wheelbase with a sloping roofline.

The rear houses a full-width LED light bar with illuminated Lexus branding and pronounced haunches. The SUV will be riding on 20-inch or 22-inch aero-optimised wheels.

Lexus TZ: Will it come to India?

As India is slowly transitioning towards electric mobility, automakers are moving towards establishing their electric lineup for India. While Lexus has also joined the race and recently introduced the ES electric sedan for the Indian market, thus the launch of TZ can strengthen the electric lineup of Lexus in India. Thus it will be interesting to see whether Lexus launches it in India or not.
