The BMW Neue Klasse i3 is set to make its global debut on March 18.
BMW is all set to globally introduce its Neue Klasse i3 electric sedan on March 18. This sedan will be positioned in the manufacturer’s latest Neue Klasse portfolio of electric cars placed after the iX3. The i3 sedan will be the electric version of the next-generation BMW 3 Series.
This announcement will mark the return of the i3 nameplate coming with the electric sedan after it was earlier branded as an electric hatchback, but it was phased out in 2022.
BMW Neue Klasse i3 Technical Details
The teaser has presented a wraparound LED headlamps and DRL setup just like the iX3 but it also features a horizontal illuminated grille just like the Vision Neue Klasse. The interiors will overall carry the iX3’s existing cabin design and is expected to have minimalist interior design, which also includes the panoramic display spanning across the windscreen.

There will also be an addition of a 17.9-inch infotainment screen integrated with BMW’s X Operating System. BMW is likely to power the iX3’s 108.7 kWh battery pack integrated with a dual-motor setup. With this configuration, it produces a maximum power output of 469 HP and 645 Nm of peak torque with a claimed WLTP range of 805 Km.
Thus with the launch of Neue Klasse i3, BMW wants to compete with rivals such as Tesla Model 3, Audi A4 e-Tron and Mercedes-Benz C-Class EV.
