The Maserati Grecale Folgore is launched at an entry price of Rs 1.89 crore in India.

Maserati India has introduced their all-electric Grecale Folgore, which is Italian marque’s first electric SUV, available at an introductory price of Rs 1.89 crore (Ex-Showroom). However, the ICE variants have been on sale since last year, which includes the Standard (Rs 1.13 crore), Modena (Rs 1.40 Crore) and Torfeo (Rs 1.99 Crore). 

If we compare the top trims, the new Grecale is economical by Rs 10 lakh. The Grecale will be having stiff competition with the Macan EV which is also priced in the same segment between Rs 1.21 crore and Rs 1.72 crore. 

Maserati Grecale Folgore Battery & Range

The Grecale EV is equipped with a 400V, 105 kWh battery pack (97 kWh Approx) integrated with an All-Wheel Drive, with an electric motor attached each at the front and rear. These permanent magnet synchronous motors generate a maximum power output of 550 HP and 820 Nm of peak torque, which is capable enough to move 2,480 Kg bulky EV and can accelerate from 0-100 kph in 4.1 seconds. 

The top speed is rated at 220 kph and is even compatible with a 22 kW AC fast charger and 150 kW DC fast charger and provides a significant range of 501 Km on a single charge. (As per Maserati’s Claims). 

Maserati Grecale Folgore Design

Visually, the Maserati Grecale Folgore measures length, width and height of 4,865 mm, 1948 mm (without ORVMs), and 1,651 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,901 mm. This signifies that the Maserati Grecale Folgore is overall bigger than the Macan EV. 

The overall design of the electric SUV also comes with signature Maserati design cues like low-set concave grill and trident logo on the D-Pillar, which has been implemented on the EV version too. However, the EV version gets distinctive redesigned bumpers, bronze coloured brake calipers, Maserati and Folgore brandings and completely new design for the alloy wheels. 

Maserati is also offering a variety of options for the wheel sizes which include 19-21 inch wheel options and a total of 24 exterior colour options with the Folgore. 

Maserati Grecale Folgore Interiors & Features

The electric Folgore’s interior is quite different from its ICE sibling as it carries over the triple screen setup of a 12.3-inch driver’s display, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen and a dedicated 8.8-inch touchscreen lower down for the climate control system. 

However, there is a lack of the tactile feeling of the physical buttons, but that is fulfilled by the steering wheel as it includes loads of buttons controlling the majority of functions. It also features dagger-sized paddles and even volume buttons. 

The feature list is very big as it has a list of custom options running across which also includes exterior body color kit, rear privacy glass, a panoramic sunroof, a 1,285W Sonus Faber sound system with 21 speakers, a heated leather steering wheel, and front and rear parking sensors. The interior upholstery is available with 16 colour choices.
