The Next-Gen Tata Nexon will feature an impressive lineup of four distinct powertrain choices.
Tata Motors is currently working on the development of the next-generation Nexon, which is expected to launch in the Indian markets in 2027. The new compact SUV is likely to be powered by multiple powertrains as a part of Tata’s strategy specifically catered for the Indian market.
The next-generation Tata Nexon is codenamed as Garud, and will also receive a completely new platform and design upgrades. It is expected to be underpinned by Tata’s ATLAS architecture, which also underpins the Curvv.

EV: Tata Motors will be also bringing a next-generation Nexon.ev. This will allow the company to provide the SUV with both ICE and EV powertrains.
Tata’s New ATLAS Platform
The next-generation Nexon is expected to be powered by Tata’s ATLAS (Adaptive Tech-Forward Lifestyle Architecture) platform. This platform also underpins the Curvv and is specifically designed for improved crash safety, better rear-seat space and an advanced electric architecture.

Next-Gen Nexon Design
According to the spy images, visually the new Nexon could look more boxier and angular in design. These structural changes could further improve cabin space, specifically for passengers seated in the second row.
The upcoming SUV could also come with split LED lighting, a sharper tailgate and an updated glasshouse. However, the overall design is expected to take a major overhaul, as the compact SUV’s dimensions should remain the same.
Tata’s Next-Gen Nexon.EV in Development
Tata Motors will also launch the next-generation Nexon EV, alongside the ICE versions. However, the company has not revealed the exact technical specs about its battery pack, electric motor and range. The Nexon.ev is an important car in Tata’s electric lineup, as it has redefined them in the electric mobility space, and is also their most selling electric vehicle.
