Skoda has recently announced that its electric flagship SUV, codenamed as Vision S will be named as Peaq. The Peak will be completely based on the Vision 7S concept, which was first displayed in 2022, and will be launched in the international markets in the first half of 2026.

Skoda “Peaq” Positioning

As the name suggests, Skoda will be positioning the “Peaq” SUV as the flagship SUV in Skoda’s lineup. The Czech manufacturer has decided to move away from its electric SUV branding with its new seven-seater flagship electric SUV. The vehicle will be the perfect blend of sustainability, technology, and futuristic design.

The Board Member for Sales & Marketing, Skoda Auto further expressed his view on this and said, “We have entered into a new field for Skoda with the Vision S, and a clear idea as to how to differentiate this brand from the competition. Since then, we have crafted a new design language, which will be further enhancing our product identity.

We have also reflected our bold vision for Skoda’s electric mobility by branding it as: ‘Peaq’, which clearly represents where this model positions in our lineup.”

Skoda Expectations from Peaq

The Skoda Peaq will be underpinned on Volkswagen’s MEB+ platform. Apart from this, the electric seven-seater SUV will also incorporate LED DRLs running across the width of the car. It will also come with signature T-shaped tail lamps, which are expected to be carried forward from the Vision 7S concept, which will further position Skoda Peaq differently from its other electric SUV competitors.

Just like modern Skoda cars, the Peaq will be carrying ‘Skoda’ branding on the front of the car, which will be placed at the edge of the frunk hood.

Expected Competition: Skoda’s upcoming Peaq will be going against the likes of European electric SUV competitors such as Peugeot 5000-8 or the Mercedes-Benz EQB, among others.
