Tata Introduces the Harrier EV at an attractive price of Rs 21.49 Lakh

Tata motors has finally taken the wraps of their much awaited Harrier EV and launched in India at a starting price of Rs 21.49 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). The Harrier EV will be positioned as the flagship SUV in their all-electric lineup.
The Harrier EV marks the company's inaugural model to feature an all-wheel drive (AWD) system since the Safari Storme, which ceased production more than five years ago. Reservations for the Harrier EV will begin on July 2, 2025.
Tata Harrier EV Design
The design of the Harrier EV is almost similar to its petrol counterpart which is selling from 2023. To differentiate the EV version, the Harrier EV gets unique styling inserts such as a new design of 19-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels and EV branding on the front doors. The rear is exactly the same apart from ‘Harrier EV’ badging on the tailgate.
If we talk about dimensions, the Harrier EV is slightly longer than the regular Harrier by 2 mm, wider by 210 mm, and taller by 22 mm. However the wheelbase is unchanged and measures 2,741 mm.
The Harrier EV presents a new closed grille upfront, complemented by a redesigned bumper that highlights a stylish line design. Now you can buy Harrier EV in four colour shades: Empowered Oxide, Nainital Nocturne, Pristine White, and Pure Grey.
Tata will also provide the Stealth Edition of Harrier EV which gets blacked out elements at the exterior and interiors, thus matching with the brand’s Dark edition variants.
Tata Harrier EV Updated Features
The interiors are also similar to the standard Harrier but there are various upgrades such as 14.53-inch infotainment screen, which is the world's first Samsung Neo QLED display, thus ensuring higher picture quality.
This model boasts a digital driver’s display and a modern four-spoke steering wheel that is enhanced with the signature illuminated Tata logo. The boot space is exactly the same as a regular Harrier measuring 502 litres.
The feature list is also updated and includes various goodies such as 10-speaker JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos 5.1, Vehicle-To-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V), Over-the-Air updates (OTA) updates for the infotainment system, connected car tech, four driving modes, first in segment Auto Park Assist with six terrain modes for enhanced driving and more.
Other features include a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, powered seats and ventilation with a new rotary drive selector and electronic parking brake.
ADDED TECH: Tata has also revised the tech with this car Harrier EV sports a 540-degree surround camera system which sends proximity alerts to the driver if the wheel is too close to any object. There is also an addition of a new DrivePay feature that automatically pays for the toll and EV charging point payments.
Safety: Safetywise Tata needs no clarification as Harrier EV is equipped with Level 2 ADAS and is perfectly calibrated according to Indian road conditions, as claimed by Tata. The system can also provide live views from each camera angle which is pretty usable in offroading conditions and is a segment first feature, with an integrated dashcam.
Tata Harrier EV Battery & Performance
Tata has used the same Activ.ev platform to develop the Harrier EV. Other EVs such as Punch EV and Curvv EV also underpin the same platform.
POWER: With the Harrier EV, Tata has made available two battery pack selections. The entry trims are powered by a 65 kWh battery pack paired with a single motor on the rear axle, generating 312 HP from the rear wheels.
The higher variants will get a larger yet powerful 75 kWh LFP battery and dual motors, one for each axle, which generates a peak power output of 291 Hp with a powerful torque of 504 Nm which is quite substantial.
Battery Pack | 65KWH | 75KWH(LFP) |
Power | 312 HP | 291 HP (AWD) |
Motors |
Single |
Dual Motors |
Expected Range: The larger 75 kWh battery pack will provide a significant range of 627 Km on a single charge (MIDC). Tata also conducted their internal testing cycle of Harrier EV and they were able to extract range figures between 480-505 Km (RWD 75 kWh) on a single charge.
With the Harrier EV, you can utilize a 120kW DC fast charger that charges the vehicle from 20% to 80% in a mere 25 minutes. If charging is done via a regular 7.2 kW AC charger, then the batteries can be recharged from 10-80% in 25 minutes.
Competition
For an introductory price of Rs 21.49 Lakh, the Harrier EV offers the base rear-wheel drive equipped with a 65 kWh battery pack. Thus at this price bracket, Harrier EV will take head on competition with Mahindra’s XEV 9e and BE6, Hyundai Creta Electric and soon to be launched Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.
