Tata Motors are all set to reinvent their history by introducing the all new Sierra EV in the highly evolving Indian automotive market. Sierra EV is also one of the most anticipated upcoming launches and will be positioned as the company’s flagship SUV, thus reigniting the love for Sierra, having a separate fanbase surrounding this popular SUV.
It also garnered a lot of attention from the audience when it was unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025, as the close to final production model is set to arrive soon. However, just before launch, a heavily camouflaged version of the Sierra EV was spotted on the roads of Mumbai.
Despite being heavily camouflaged, the design language of the original Sierra was clearly visible including the upright bonnet, wide fascia, squared-off rear housing a flat tail-gate, and the signature styled quarter-glass panel that used to be an identity of SUVs in the 1990s.
Sierra EV Design Showcased
The new Sierra EV comes with a host of modern design elements and strikes a perfect balance between retro design elements and sporty looks. Spy shots showcased the flush-fitting illuminated door handles with a big wide rear spoiler complimented by a shark-fin antenna, and a dedicated ADAS module situated in the front bumper.
What Features to Expect?
Tata will be updating the SUV with various technologically advanced features including a horizontally oriented touchscreen infotainment system equipped with connected car tech, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, followed by a push-start button, floating center console, ventilated front seats, and a 360-Degree Camera.
There is an inclusion of a rotary dial located below the start button, although its functions are not revealed by the company. The Expo Model on display also featured the passenger-side screen, but it is not confirmed whether it will be offered in the production model or not. The SUV will also feature a panoramic sunroof with ADAS suite.
Sierra EV Expected Battery & Tech
Sierra will be available with ICE and electric configurations. The EV model will be offering an expected range of 500 Km on a single charge, and for ICE models, Tata will be providing a 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine, followed by a 1.5-litre TGDI turbo-petrol engine, available in manual and automatic transmissions.
Importance of Sierra for Tata Motors
Tata Motors is aiming to solidify its position in the premium SUV with the launch of Sierra. The company is also rooting for Sierra because it offers a perfect combination of heritage, style, and modern functionalities. The flexibility of offering the Sierra with multiple powertrains is what makes the Sierra as the most anticipated launches of 2025.
