Ultraviolette Automotive has announced plans to set up a new manufacturing facility at SIPCOT Industrial Park, Shoolagiri, in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The facility will be called BIGGA (Big Global Ambition) Factory. The facility will be focussing towards manufacturing Ultraviolette’s upcoming Tesseract electric scooter and will support manufacturing of its upcoming motorcycles and scooter models. 

The development of the facility will take place in phases, with a dedicated production capacity to reach 2,50,000 vehicles annually. The infrastructure will be scaled to support a total production capacity of up to 5,00,000 vehicles per year, depending on the demand.

BIGGA Factory Details 

The BIGGA Factory will be manufacturing the Tesseract electric scooter and support Ultraviolette’s future product lineup which includes bodystyles such as Sports, Crossover, Cruiser, Street and scooter portfolios. 

The company’s 2027 product vision includes expanding beyond its performance bike lineup (F-Series, X-Series, & Shockwave) with two new electric scooters scheduled to launch from Q1 2027. As per the company, the facility will create around 2,000 jobs in the initial phase, with employment expected to increase over the next five years as per operations scale. 

The manufacturing facility will be utilising Industry 4.0 systems, which comprises a Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for production tracking and traceability. It will also get digital lean manufacturing and equipped with digital quality systems. 

The facility will also feature collaborative robots for sorting, wielding, and assembly, automated assembly error-proofing systems, and vision-based inspection systems. There will also be an inclusion of a dedicated test track for vehicle testing before dispatch.

The Tamil Nadu government will be allotting the land for the facility at SIPCOT Industrial Park, Shoolagiri. The location will also provide access to the automotive supplier network in the Hosur-Bengaluru region and is located near Ultraviolette’s R&D operations and existing suppliers.
