Vinfast has registered a design patent for India for its Rasad, an electric maxi-scooter concept, which was introduced in early 2026 as a part of its comprehensive strategy to diversify the electric two-wheeler lineup

Vinfast Rasad Technical Details

This patent filing has just come weeks after the Vietnamese brand patented two other electric two-wheelers for India, the Viper scooter and an electric motorcycle to be based on the Sulad concept. These multiple patent filings suggest that the brand is looking to expand its two-wheeler lineup.

In terms of design, the Rasad will come with a muscular, yet angular design featuring chunky tyres and an underbone chassis, which has a striking resemblance to the Yamaha Aerox and recently introduced Honda ADV160. The design patent also reveals the inclusion of disc brakes at both ends, a spacious looking stepped seat and a tall windscreen.

It will also get telescopic forks at the front and twin rear absorbers. Vinfast has not revealed the technical specifications, but according to Vietnamese media publications, it will be powered by a centrally mounted electric motor generating 7.1 kW of maximum power, claiming a top speed of 100 km/hr.

Vinfast Rasad Expected Launch

According to Vietnamese reports, the company is planning for a global launch in the fourth quarter of 2026. Initially, Vinfast will enter the Indian market with its three models from the line-up. However, patent filings don’t confirm the launch, they do suggest that these models have the possibility to be launched in the Indian market.
