The Yamaha Aerox Electric has been unveiled, boasting a range of 106 Km.
Yamaha has recently showcased the EV version of their Aerox scooter, which will be branded as Aerox-E. The company has unveiled this scooter alongside the XSR155. Let’s understand what new features and powertrains will be integrated into the Aerox-E electric scooter.
Yamaha Aerox-E: What’s New?
The Aerox-E will be equipped with a dual 1.5 kWh detachable battery integrated with an electric motor that generates 9.5 kW of maximum power and 48 Nm of peak torque. According to Yamaha, these dual batteries will be featuring ‘high energy type cells’ for enhanced performance and superior power output.
The e-scooter will be providing a certified range of 106 Km on a single charge and will be having a kerb weight of 139 Kg, which is around 13 Kg heavier than the base Aerox 155. The power of the Aerox-E can be tapped via multiple driving modes such as Eco, Standard, and Power, which comes with an additional Boost Mode, giving you short power boosts especially for quick overtakes.

The braking of the Aerox-E comes with a front disc which is integrated with ABS and a rear disc brake for superior braking experience even at high speeds.
Yamaha Aerox-E Design
Visually, the design of the Aerox-E has a striking resemblance to its petrol-powered sibling, which comes with the same set of twin-LED headlights and LED tail-light. It even features a TFT dash which comes with app-based connectivity as compared to the LCD dash on the petrol-powered Aerox.
As per Yamaha, they have updated the electric Aerox’s ergonomics in order to provide a fun-to-drive experience, with the boot space being reduced significantly because of the restyling done to the e-scooter. Currently, Yamaha has only presented the Aerox-E, and it is unclear when they will be launching it in India.
