Ather achieves remarkable 8 lakh unit sales milestone

Ather has emerged as the fourth Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer to achieve a sales milestone of over 8 lakh units. According to the data from VAHAN portal, the Bengaluru-based brand has crossed the milestone on September 28, 2026. 

Ather 8 Lakh Sales Milestone Details 

As per retail statistics, Ather started significant growth over the past four years, with the majority of sales accelerating from 2025. Between the time period of January 2025 and September 28, 2026 Ather has sold 4.75 lakh electric scooters, which means 59% of the brand sales have come in the past 21 months. 

The Ather Rizta family electric scooter contributed the majority of sales, as it was launched on August 29. In 2023, Ather’s retail sales crossed the 1 lakh sales milestone, and its market share jumped to 12%. In 2024, Ather sold 1.36 lakh units with a 11% market share. The company achieved its highest-ever monthly sales in March this year by registering sales with 36,633 units. 

Ather Latest Electric Scooter Sales

If we talk about recent sales of August, Ather delivered 29,694 e-scooters to its dealers across India. This marked the third-highest monthly wholesales for the country after June and July. The Rizta accounted for 76% of the total sales, and the 450 series garnered 23%, with the recently launched Konarc selling 217 units last month. 

Ather has recently introduced the Konarc and is strategically positioned with mainstream mass-market electric scooters like the TVS iQube, Orbiter, Bajaj Chetak, Hero Vida VX2, Simple Wave and the new Ola S1 Z. 

However, Ather is pretty much confident with the Konarc as it will give a higher margin than the Rizta, as quoted by Chief Business Officer, Ravneet Phokela. Ather will be trying to convert the ICE scooter buyers to look for Konarc, as with this strategy, Ather is expected to end the year by registering total sales of 3.5 lakh units.
