Ather Energy is currently underpinning all the electric scooters on its single platform and underpins its two models such as the Sporty 450 and practical Rizta. However, Ather has introduced its new EL platform which is designed to be modular and has the capability to underpin three distinct types of models.

The company has registered a design patent for one of its upcoming electric scooters and this has a striking resemblance to the EL01 working concept, showcased at the company's Community Day 2025.

What to Expect from Ather’s EL Platform

Visually, looking at the first glance is the similar design language of the upcoming electric scooter which is quite similar to the EL01 concept, barring some different design cues. It comes with a minimalistic, uncluttered design just like a traditional family scooter.

It also includes new design cues such as big LED DRLs and matching LED tail-light. The EL platform is also capable of attaching batteries with the capacities from 2-5 kWh. It will be also equipped with a 14/12-inch (F/R) alloy wheel setup with an inclusion of a new swingarm-mounted electric motor, both of which will be retained from the production-spec model.

Other features include 7-inch TFT display, and considering Ather is known to equip its products with various advanced technology, thus expect all Ather’s features to be applicable on the production scooter as well.

Ather EL-Platform Scooter Launch Date

The first Ather scooter powered by the EL platform is all set to launch in the festive season of 2026 and will be positioned in the budget-conscious family user segment, thus expecting a huge demand. Thus Ather’s lineup will include a mix of Ather’s first platform and the new EL platform.
