Bajaj Auto is soon updating its Chetak lineup by introducing next-generation Chetak series. The brand has recently launched the latest 35 series in December last year as the e-Scooter is the only model left in the Chetak lineup. Currently, Bajaj is leading at number two position in the domestic electric two-wheeler sales, all thanks to the prestigious Chetak series.

However, the company has been spotted testing the next-generation model of the Chetak nameplate for the first time. However, the company has not revealed the exact timeline of the launch, but it is expected to be unveiled sometime next year.

However, looking at the spy shots, it is clearly evident that it will be incorporated with the series of changes to the overall package, however the scooter was covered with heavy camouflage, hiding its important details, which will be soon revealed by the company.

Next-Generation Chetak Expected Design

Visually, the next-generation model of Chetak will feature an updated LED tail lamp with brake and turn indicators embossed into a single unit. However, Chetak has retained the original design of the scooter, as the company has put more emphasis on the evolution rather than the revolution, which is a smart move by the company as it has played safe with the overall design of the scooter.

Changes are more evident on the tail section which is revised a bit to give a different look than the previous generation, which includes revised number plate positioning and addition of a new tyre hugger.

The side panels of the upcoming e-scooter were hidden under the heavy camouflage, with only the grab handle to be retained from the current version.

The seat is now flat as the company has ditched the small hump, earlier provided. On the upfront, the indicators are repositioned to the handlebar area, by retaining the headlamp design integrated with a new Chetak branding, which is the main highlight of the electric scooter.

Apart from this, a switchgear console has also been spotted, featuring a new shape for the instrument cluster. The test version was spotted with a limited kit, which also includes the missing new keyless start-stop system which signifies that the test prototype is the mid variant of the upcoming next-generation Chetak.

Next-Generation Chetak Battery & Performance

The test version houses a hub located electric motor, followed by the battery pack adjusted to the floorboard, having a striking resemblance to the current model. In terms of mechanics, Bajaj will be more likely sticking to the basics with subtle tweaks in the design and equipment department.

The upcoming Chetak will be likely to be powered by the same tried and tested 3.5 kWh battery pack with a significant claimed range of 150 Km on a single charge.
