The Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6 now offer digital key support through the Samsung Wallet app.
Mahindra has launched a digital key for Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6 owners in India using a Samsung Galaxy Smartphone. The users will now be able to access their cars by using their phones as a digital key supported through the Samsung Wallet app. This means users can lock, unlock or even start the Mahindra EVs via the app.
Mahindra EVs Digital Key: What they provide?
The digital key is not a new functionality to the Mahindra EVs as XEV 9e and BE 6 were introduced with digital key. Earlier, owners had to access this feature through Mahindra’s self developed Me4U app.
But now Mahindra has directly given access to the digital key function on the Samsung Wallet App, thus making it easier for Samsung users to operate key functions like locking, unlocking and starting the car.
However, users of other smartphone brands have to still rely on the Me4U app, in order to access their cars digitally via smartphones. Apart from this, there are no changes made to the NFC card keys, nor the physical keys, as they continue to operate the earlier versions.

How are Users benefited from it?
The seamless integration of digital keys into the Samsung Wallet app reduces the dependency on third party apps, but also simplifies the overall process of sharing the key with friends or family members for the specific time.
However, users can be also assured that the key can be shared only if it is authorized by the smartphone owner, because a Samsung Wallet needs a PIN or biometric authentication in order to access the Samsung Wallet app.
What happens if a Samsung Smartphone with a digital Key is lost or stolen?
If a Samsung phone equipped with a digital key is stolen or either lost or misplaced, users have an option of deleting the key from the native Samsung Find service, which can be additionally used to lock the device in order to prevent unauthorized access.
