The upcoming Ather scooter based on the EL platform has been seen undergoing tests.
Ather Energy’s first EL platform-based electric scooter has been spotted testing on the Indian roads, and could be launched during the next year’s festive season. The test version was heavily camouflaged but its overall silhouette and other design elements hints that the production version will be sharing the same design cues to the EL01 concept previewed at the Community Day 2025.
Ather EL01 Technical Details
The spy shots indicate that the upcoming electric scooter will retain the family-focussed design philosophy displayed by the EL01 concept. Key design elements comprises a handlebar-placed headlight and a wide LED DRL attached to the front apron.

Ather also stated at the Community Day 2025 that the EL platform has been developed by studying 26 lakh kilometers of field data and has been designed to be modular enough to underpin scooters of different sizes and caters to different needs and preferences of the buyer.

Ather has not revealed the exact technical specifications, but the EL concept came equipped with a 14-inch front and 12-inch rear alloy wheel setup. This platform will also integrate a wide variety of battery capacities ranging from 2 kWh to 5 kWh, thus featuring multiple variants categorised into performance and range parameters.
Ather EL01 Expected Features
The EL01 concept came with a variety of features which includes a 7-inch TFT display equipped with Ather’s advanced technology. The production model is expected to retain the comprehensive set of features. However, there are no clear images, the final instrument cluster on the test version is not officially revealed.
The EL01 concept is one of the three scooters revealed on this platform and is expected to be the first electric scooter to be underpinned on this platform. The ‘EL01’ is not the codename for the scooter as the final production model could be branded with the same name.
