Replus intends to enhance its battery production capabilities, targeting a total of 6 GWh.

Replus, a battery manufacturing company under the LNJ Bhilwara Group, will be expanding its current 1 GWh production capacity to 6 GWh within the next year. This mega expansion will integrate the advanced battery technologies to meet the increasing demand of power from EVs and Energy Storage Systems (ESS) sectors.
The upgraded 6 GWh facility will feature:
Automated Manufacturing Processes: The new facility will include the integration of automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), real-time monitoring, machine vision, robotic advancements, automated material handling, and laser wielding to increase the production efficiency and reduce carbon footprint.
Advanced Cell Chemistry: The new facility will accommodate multiple cell chemistries, which includes Na-ion, LMFP, and LTO, to meet the demand of various market requirements.
New Product Offerings: The plant will manufacture battery solutions for electric vehicles such as buses, trucks, passenger cars, and for grid-scale renewable energy storage systems, which includes liquid-cooled BESS container solutions.
Replus expansion will be following the Indian Government’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative by promoting local manufacturing. Talking about Replus, it was established in 2019 and approved by DPIIT. The company has incorporated 70 MWh of completed BESS projects and also completed an order pipeline of 600MWh BESS and 300MWh EV battery packs.
Currently, Replus, a subsidiary of Bhilwara Energy Limited operates a 1 GWh automated Cell-To-Pack production facility in Pune and is planning its further expansion in India and globally.
Riju Jhunjhunwala, the Vice Chairman of LNJ Bhilwara Group, stated, "The LNJ Bhilwara Group is at the forefront of promoting clean energy technologies in various industries. The expansion of Replus plant to 6 GWh marks an important milestone to India’s sustainable growth and energy transition.”
Mr. Hiren Pravin Shah, the Managing Director and CEO of Replus, echoed this sentiment, saying, "Through this expansion, Replus is set to significantly influence the future of energy storage on a global scale. By combining high-speed automation and next generation battery technologies, we are committed to provide industry-leading products for EVs and ESS applications.”
